How To Pick Up An African Woman

By De Pierre

There is no one formula for picking up an African Woman. The reasons are as varied as the women are diverse - a creation of the hodge-podge of culture and tradition wrapped in a mix of western influences.

With the advent of education and other social influences which opened up iron curtains and cultural barricades, I will suggest to you a few tips on picking up an African Woman.

To begin with, I am not attempting to hand you a cue card as to what the lines should be. Rather, I offer five instances at conversational creativity:

Circumstantial Pickups
These are pickups that occur at an instants under surrounding circumstances. It generally occurs when you like an African woman who is watching or witnessing an event in the immediate surrounding. If say two lovers are getting into a heated altercation, you can move closer to her and joke “what a gentleman”.

Social Gathering Pickups
On the average, African Women are compulsively sociable. They love to party (especially house and group parties). The conventional wisdom here is to opportune yourself with a dance with the beautiful lady. Do the gentlemanly chores - thank her for the dance, walk her to her seat, offer her a drink, and see if she would mind if you sit at her table.

Situational Compliments Pickups
African Women cherish subtle compliments. Don’t go for those high-sounding superlatives like “Oh! you are the most beautiful woman I ever met”, or, “I will die if you don’t dance with me”.  Gosh! Don’t run her off with your holiest-of-all attempts. Compliment her on her dress, her dance skill, her conversational skill, etc.. No attempt at no-funny wisecracks, or stale jokes.

Self Confidence
It sometimes can be magical how that trust and belief in your ability to converse with women could be a special allure for some African Women. In a way, this helps you gain stature. It™s like you stopped to look fear in the face, and fear blinked. They know this is an obvious attempt to pick them up with your funny joke and swagger, but they like it.

A note of caution here. Don™t parade yourself with arrogance and brazen braggadocio. Temper your approach with funny quips and self-jokes - goes a long way to cooling down tension and heat (if you know what I mean).

Walk up Pickups
Allied to the self-confidence approach is the walk up approach, whereby you introduce yourself the ol™ fashion way. Relax and compose yourself . Show some humility because a lot of women are very sentimental.

I am sure that there are more ways to pick up an African woman that has not been touched on here. Some are very old fashioned and non-contemporary. I will discuss these and others later.
